Platform Comparison

Supaorder vs ChowNow

ChowNow keeps the subscription low and charges for the volume — 2.95% + $0.29 on every transaction, a setup fee, and a per-order rate on delivery. Supaorder charges one flat price per location and nothing per order, and puts the register, kitchen screen and kiosk in the same subscription.

What ChowNow is

ChowNow is a US-focused commission-free ordering platform. Restaurants get a branded website, a branded mobile app and a listing in ChowNow's own consumer marketplace, and ChowNow connects to a long list of third-party POS systems. It does not sell a POS, a kitchen display or a kiosk of its own.

How this page is written

Every ChowNow cell below states only what ChowNow publishes on its own website — no review-site figures, no analyst numbers. Where they publish nothing, the cell says not published rather than claiming the feature is missing. The pages we read and the date we read them are at the bottom, so you can check any row yourself in one click.

  1. 1. Driver app & auto-dispatch — ChowNow publishes two different Flex Delivery rates: $7.98/order on its pricing page and $3.99/order on its food-delivery page. It also lists plans from $229/month in one place and $199/month in the other. Both figures are live on chownow.com; ask ChowNow which applies before you budget.
Their Case

When ChowNow Is the Better Choice

We would rather you buy the right thing than buy ours. These are the cases where that is not us.

You want to be in a consumer marketplace

ChowNow runs its own diner-facing app and discovery network, and lists your restaurant in it. Supaorder deliberately has no marketplace — we only build your own channel — so if you want a second source of demand alongside your own app, that is a real thing ChowNow gives you and we do not.

Your POS is one of the twenty they support and not one of our three

If you run Revel, Lightspeed, Brink, PAR, Lavu or another system on their list, ChowNow connects to it today. We sync two-way with Clover, Square and Toast, and nothing else. That is the clearest reason to choose them over us.

You are a single US location with low online volume

Per-transaction pricing is cheaper than a flat fee below a certain order count. If you do a few thousand dollars a month online, do the arithmetic — a percentage of a small number is a small number.

Our Case

When Supaorder Is the Better Choice

You want the register, the kitchen screen and the kiosk from one vendor

ChowNow is ordering software that talks to your POS. Supaorder includes the POS register, kitchen display, self-order kiosk and in-store loyalty tablet in the same subscription, so there is one menu, one support contact and one bill.

Your online volume is growing

2.95% + $0.29 scales with your success. A flat per-location fee does not. The crossover point is the number worth calculating before you sign anything.

You are outside the United States

We publish local pricing in 17 currencies and operate in 100+ countries. ChowNow publishes USD pricing and a US support line.

Questions

Supaorder vs ChowNow FAQ

Is ChowNow really commission-free?

On direct orders, yes — ChowNow publishes unlimited commission-free direct ordering, and that part is genuine. The cost sits elsewhere: 2.95% + $0.29 per transaction, a $119–$499 setup fee, a $99 annual Apple Developer fee, and a per-order charge on Flex Delivery orders. "Commission-free" and "no percentage of your revenue" are not the same sentence.

Can I move from ChowNow to Supaorder?

Yes. Send us your current menu — a link to your ChowNow ordering page is enough — and we rebuild items, modifiers, photos and delivery zones for you. Your Supaorder store can run in parallel while you switch links, QR codes and app downloads over, so there is no dark day.

Does Supaorder list my restaurant in a marketplace like ChowNow does?

No, and that is deliberate. Supaorder builds your own ordering channel under your own brand — there is no Supaorder consumer app your restaurant appears in, and no competitor listed beside you. If marketplace discovery matters to you, that is a genuine point in ChowNow’s favour.
